Stadium capacity and expenditure relation.

Is there any relation between the two? I know it can all depend on tickets sold etc....

But when you look at Cardiff, leicester, blackpool and Southampton for instance compared to ours, we have the same capacity or more (or at least will have when the expansion is complete).

Does this mean that say next season, we will comfortably be competing for the top 6?

Cardiff, Leicester, Blackpool and Southampton have all got money men behind them and/or parachute payments (as have Blackburn, Bolton, Burnley, Hull, Ipswich, Leeds, Middlesborough, Forest, Wolves)

You'd need to look for a much longer-term correlation, and at a much wider range of clubs. Does more bums on seats = more spent on players? There a SO many other factors to take into consideration - look at Arsenal, a recent increase in capacity but a new stadium to pay for. You also need to consider whether more spent on players = more success, look at Portsmouth for this one...
