st georges day march for ENGLAND in brighton

Barrel of Fun

Abort, retry, fail
It was a joyous occasion for a talismanic group of like-minded individuals, although most participants suffered from sun damage to the top of the head. The day threatened to turn sour when a power cut meant that the beer taps were inoperational, but the situation was rescued with a hearty rendition of everybodies favourite 'There ain't no black, in Union Jack'. All in all, fun was had and we are hoping for a few more than the 17 that turned up this year. :whisky: England

It was a great success, according to the "Brighton and Hove Fornightly Post and Advertiser" - their top reporter Brian Purves said:

"The masses thronged on the day to be proud for England. Gathering outside the pub, they treated the passing pensioners to a rousing chorus of "Ain't No Black In the Union Jack" and "No Surrender", evoking memories of the 1970s. Some of the crowd went further by dressing as they would in the 1970s, although the Crombies and Ben Shermans were a little bit of a tight fit - certainly many of them were grateful for the "belts and braces" approach as their buttons, under serious strain, parted company with their bleach-striped jeans, leaving only their red, white and blue braces to take the strain of 20 years of fags, booze, wife-beating and dole-queue scrounging. Some of them had their heads shaved for the occasion, and those who were unable, owing to work commitments, donned showercaps to give the impression of shaven-headed solidarity.

They began their march, losing only a couple of the crowd who were told that they were "going f**king shopping" by their wives. The throng staggered, wobbled and puffed their way down the street, when it became clear that most of them were unable to walk and sing at the same time - this was either due to mental or physical incapacity. The leaders overcame this by agreeing to stop every twenty yards to allow marchers to sing or catch their breath. The St John's Ambulance were stretched to their limits administering air to the overweight, out-of-condition marchers. Some of the crowd were holding hands to help their friends keep up, but when we tried to take photos, they became strangely defensive about this show of affection. The kiss of life was given freely amongst some of the shaven-headed marchers, but again they were not keen to show their obvious ability in the life-saving skills. We have since been told that using tongues is NOT an approved method of life-saving.

All in all, a great success. The marchers completed the two miles in a little under three hours, with only a few stress-related fatalities along the way, and then adjourned to local Chinese, Indian and Turkish takeaways before driving home in American, Japanese and Taiwanese cars."

so, despite earlier protestations that this is not a racist movement, you openly acknowledge that actually it is. glad thats clear.

Who exactly is stopping you or anyone else celebrating St George's Day?

Can't see the problem with celebrating the day of the Patron Saint of Germany myself. Or the Patron Saint of Syphillis and Lepers. What "exactly" would people like to celebrate about being English? What aspect of Englishness would people suggest we could focus on?

well i suppose they didnt on st georges day itself. its more the underlying bollocks they dress up as st georges day "march" which mean its frowned upon by the left wing.

rather for the benefit of the other march supports earlier in the thread who seem to be confused.

and a penny drops....:dunce:

seems no matter what the far left will throw at us the vast majority of public arent detered..thank f***!! they showed their full support by applauding us & clapping, unlike the lonesome silly prick down north street.

So, how was it? I am not sure it would be quite as much fun as the celebration in Traf Square yesterday, but it depends what you fancy.

Ps Seth Lakeman

I went to that for about half an hour and decided it was a shame that they only really had folk on the bill. It wasn't loud enough either. They could have put on a few more contemporary artists imo.
