Never mind this humiliation, losses against Bangladesh and Ireland should have been wake-up calls that England simply aren't good enough in 50 Over cricket.

Rebuild time with all places now up for grabs? Trott perhaps the exception to this.

Good news for Sussex I guess as we will be seeing a lot more of Prior, Wright & Yardy......

A very predictable end to a very long winter and spring. Yes Yes, The Ashes ! but surely we should have cut down on the ridiculus number of meaningless ODI's before the tournament ? Also the length and format of the tournament should be revised, it was ridiculus that either India or The Convicts went out at the last 8 stage.

The long winter took its toll and the regular returnees to Blighty left us with a hotch potch of bit players consisting of Saffers, Indians and a token Oirishman. Our Sussex contingent has performed especially poorly too. I was lucky in that all I was working so kept up to date on my phone and didn't have to sit and watch this slow death.

Today we really missed Stuart Broad. So often when we need a breakthrough he can supply it.

It's no coincidence 3 out of the last 4 left are sub-continent sides who are masters of the conditions and pitches.

We're not a bad side, there's no major surgery required here. Those players have been away for a heck of a long time, we have no chance of ever winning the world cup if we put another schedule like that before the tournament proper.
