In terms of incomings, if Moises goes (which I suspect he will), we'll need a DCM or at least someone that has most of the attributes that he has (especially winning the ball back, aggression, physicality). Agree with Chailey Jem about the need for (at least) one full back and a CB (maybe more than one depending on who is expected to go out on loan). Less convinced we need a number 10. I think we're well covered both in the front two, but also in the front four positions -- but I'll defer to the better judgment of Bloom, Weir, Jewell, RDZ, etc on these decisions.

Updated: A few minor tweaks/updates - Gilmour/Alzate HGP, Turns contract, moved a few players about. Still think 2-3 first team ready players incoming. What positions are they ?
I think we’ll land the vast majority of our transfer targets:

LB - Bassey
AM/RW - Kudus
LCB - Colwill (loan)
DM - Teunmeiners
2 x Wonderkids (including Beraldo)

And that will all be paid for with Caicedo and Sanchez plus six or seven other sales including Connolly, Karbownik and Zeqiri.

I honestly hope your right I love a bit of optomisim!

That would leave us with an amazing squad. I do not think RB is essential. Milner can fill in there.

It's insane to think just 2 years ago we started a few games with no recognised striker but at least 5 now who could play as sole number 9 if they had to. hell I'd even love to see Mitoma given a chance in the middle

This seems a routine u21 signing
We signed a 16 year old striker from Liverpool yesterday.

and well sourced today is that we've signed (to be loaned back for 6 months until 18) a 17 year old Romanian Winger
- this is rumoured to be £8m ballpark signing so very much "wonderkid"

You don't think March is first choice RW and you think João Pedro has signed as a RW?
Actually looking at Joao Pedro again I think you are probably right alothough it seems both him and Adringa are much more capable of playing either sides.

Be interesting to see if De Zerbi rates Adringa enough to go with him this season. I suspect they are putting Kudus signing on ice until they can get a better reading of Adringa. Very important preseason for him, I doubt they go into the season with 5 wingers, especially as other players can do decent job there.

Surely McGill has got to go out on loan to get some experience? 23 years old and only played 26 games, and only one of thse at EFL level, for Crawley - and that was his only game in the last four years!

Maybe they don't see him as the next big thing, but they want someone who could willingly and competently do the role of a third keeper

If McGill doesn't go on loan I can only assume he is now happy with being a professional training goalie on perhaps £200K per year and is happy to do this for a few years before moving onto the full time coaching staff.

Not a bad career.

So who should be our third choice keeper - who else is likely (barring injuries and even then club can then recall loans and/or make emergency signings) to slot into that #3 slot where you don't get to play. Somebody has to do it.
And it all points to it being McGill. It won't be Rushworth. He needs further development presumably at a Championship club. If not him then who ?

One of the GKs in the U21s squad could sit on the bench if one of Steele or Verbruggen was injured, perhaps? If long term injury, then as you say use the option of recalling a loan in January, or buying one in.

Its a Plan B . Anyway doesnt matter - Its going to be McGill . Thats why we presumably extended his contract.

Well, he's got a fairly well-paid job, I suppose. Doesn't do a great deal for any ambitions he might have, but that's his choice I guess.
He's got an incredibly well paid job in a career thats short and risky , he's got a contract until 2025, and he's still only 23. Where did it all go wrong ? Jason Steele played one PL game in three and half years before ousting Sanchez earlier this year. Not sure why , if this is the outcome , its worth questioning him - or anyone else - who wants to come in and do this important job for the club.

Its a quip (he's got a well paid contract at Premier League football club at age of 23, clubs find it hard to find respected #3s) - in response to you suggesting, thats all well and good , but shouldn't he be more ambitious ?

If he's happy I'm happy! I do think it's a bit strange that he's been here for five years without ever having gone out for a significant loan though.
