most squid are reasonably damp as by nature, they spend most of their time in the ocean

Finally proof positive it's a parody account
I've been fished in a fair few times by that supporters anti Albion rhetoric, so I'm pleased he's let his guard down just to confirm it's all a joke.

No big signings then, more gambles from abroad or Championship/League One

Was kinda hoping for a Bridge or Vicente type exciting signing

Still looking forward to seeing who we get though.

PB is talking common sense and reality. Many on here, including me, have said we need to buy quality not quantity. Quality costs more money so if for example GP gets say £60m to spend in this window he could be looking at signing 3 better quality players at c.£20m each - which again breaks our transfer record. Only signing 3 players sees us evolve rather than overhauling the whole squad if the 3 signings do indeed improve the quality. So i hope my interpretation of PB’s statement proves correct and that works for me and makes complete sense !

Sorry disagree. For all Hughton's faults he had to work with a pretty rubbish squad. Our current team isn't very good and the table doesn't lie.

For all Hughton’s faults?

He had very few; have some ****ing respect for our best manger ever.

Secondly, there was a profound lack of Hughton ‘style’ players signed last season.
I don’t view any of these players as Hughton 4-4-1-1 specialists:

Andone
Ali J
Locadia
Schelotto
Suttner
Izquierdo
Pröpper
Bissouma

He played the hand he was dealt, which with his football beliefs/systems, was pretty rotten.

Lastly, if Potter starts playing inside forwards, box-2-box midfielders and wing backs - we may already have the players to succeed.

I thought our team was pretty sound on January 1st- according to here.

Did they suddenly get a de-talenting disease ?

A great post, bring in three decent signings, plus what we have on loan and what we have as a current squad. What he makes our squad and what he wants is what we get, rest out on loan or sold on and go with what our manager feels best. I am hopeful, he will go with youth finally.

Wouldn't want to defend behind a wind-back. We were stinking out the league this season.

CH had the final say on ALL signings.

Of course he did, but how many hours in the day did our honourable manager have to study all these signings in detail? Look at Groß, an attacking midfielder turned number 10 under Hughton in our first Premier League season to great success!

He had to trust the recruitment team.

Seems to me that they were signing quality players based on the style and systems favoured by TB and the U23 team - not players for defensive 4-4-1-1s

And we signed a load of players suited to Potter style football.

Simples.
That was very charitable of CH as he had the final say on ALL signings.

We'll definitely need a right back to replace Bruno a new striker would be handy too.

That's it. Rest can go

So our striker who has scored 10+ premier league goals two seasons in a row can go? Our German midfielder who has created the most chances for us this season despite being injured for two months can go? Some people just expect too much.

Gross has to stay, Murray probably will but he shouldn’t be first choice......

Good. We have a great squad will nice to see what happens if you use them properly.

This. Obviously.

The opposite of 'OK Sam, you can burn Locardia, Jahandbag, and one other, (whatsisname?), and get some proper readymade replacents in. Proper players, tried and tested in the premier league. Your likes of Benteke, and that other one what just got relegated with Fulham'.
