i've gotta say fair play to everyone from brighton...........they were fantastic today........the supporters and the playas did them proud and surely when you see support like that they've gotta get a new ground!!

the minute i walked into the lane today and saw the amount of fans they had you just knew they were gonna be loud.........and they didnt disappoint.......!!

we didnt really hav any answer to them and were put to shame.........!!

brilliant standin ovation the spurs fans left in the ground gave to the brighton playas who deserved it and were very unfortuante not to at least get a draw!!

they had the one playa who shone above everyone else on that pitch and it was leon knight........he was outstandin from the 1st to last minute and ran his socks off.......he gave everyone of our 4 defenders a hard game and all had to be one their toes coz he was everywhere........also rattled perdo mendes!!

how he manged to beat gardner in the air i dont know and i cant stop talkin about it.......i've heard a lot about him tho never actually seen him play till today.........im sure he must have impressed arnesen and if i was him i'd keep a close eye on leon knight for the rest of the season!!

Echo your sentiments plt, we joined in with that applause after the game. They thoroughly deserved it. To be honest they probably had done enough to deserve a draw and the revenue that that would have provided would have been a godsend for them. I think that I will go out and buy their record that they have out at the moment............and I wish them the best of luck with their new ground.

i couldn't agree more with you lot. leon knight was supurb today and if that set of supporters don't deserve their own ground then nobody does. a brilliant show from everybody at brighton, rubbish song though

Brighton were magnificent, the supporters at least. The Brighton team were determined and whole hearted playing out their Cup Final whilst being cheered on relentlessly throughout. Good luck to them, I hope that they ger their new stadium, if I was older and more sentimental and speaking purely as a football fan, I would have sacrifised a result today for Brighton to get their new stadium.
As much as I always claim that compared to Gooners we are real, loyal and proper supporters, we really need to look at clubs like Brighton
and the problems they suffer. Today was probably, technically the best game of football they will see all season in the Championship. Imagine watching that standard of football every week!

brighton fans were brilliant.........they made us look completely pathetic and all we cud come back in response was stupid gay songs........once or twice maybe amusin but for most of the game it just got a bit borin........i found it very hard to get into the game today but all credit goes to brighton who were top class........they were by far the better team and were by far the better fans!!

Leon Knight was good according to away fans - take note LI

When have I said he wasn't good Spursboy? Passing, dribbling, workrate, attitude - all superb. Anyone seeing Leon for the first time will obviously see a class player. What I've raised my eyebrow about the odd time on here recently is his chances/goal conversion rate of late. Did you have your eyes open today to see his (at least) fourth run into the box one-on-one with a keeper blown this season?

What do you think Defoe would have done with that chance? He certainly wouldn't have been caught from behind for pace by a defender, quick though Kelly is.

To me, it's no wonder that McGhee talked about getting another striker in the Argus yesterday - while our passing game has come on leaps and bounds this season, our defence has been heroic and our midfield has surprised us all - the clear failing of the current squad is the lack of a consistent goalscorer in the forward line.

Based on what? Leon was far better than Defoe yesterday. Always room for a dig, though.

Spurs crashed into the fourth round of The FA Cup yesterday after a difficult 2-1 win over Brighton and Hove Albion at WHL.

Brighton started much quicker than Spurs and obviously had a game plan that involed allowing Spurs no time on the ball and getting the ball up to striker Leon Knight as often as possible to exploit his pace. This caused some problems but King handled most of what was thrown at him.

However Spurs were being really beaten in the middle of the park, Brown couldn't get hold of the ball, Carrick was looking a little lost and Mendes didn't get involved as much as he usually did. He drifted in a lot from the right wing, where he is wasted really, allowing Brighton much free space down our right flank. Kelly pushed forward an awful lot which left us wide open at the back for balls over the top stretching Edman, King and Gardner more than necessary. This game highlighted more than any in recent times that we need a right winger and quick or teams better than Brighton will really cause us serious problems defensivly. Later on Marney came on for Kelly in a bizzare move by Jol which I still don't get. Personally I would of taken Brown off, put Mendes in the middle and Marney wide right. It would of given our team a much better shape.

Nevertheless we huffed and puffed to the win. King scored first with a good looping header. Brighton hit back after the break with a great free kick. Robinson was not at fault as he was unsighted. After that Brighton surged on and looked much better, Spurs still struggling to get hold of the ball. However Keane won the game with a supurb volley 8 minutes from time. He collected the ball on the edge of the box, swivled and hit it into the top corner. A classic Keane goal and one he was clearly deleighted with.

Brighton and their fans should be proud of their performance yesterday. Lets hope for an easier game in the fourth round.
