Not quite in the same league as 4 concecutive gold medals at the Olympics though surely ???

He has won one gold this year - a great achievment over the twelve years, but it would be nice for Henman to get some recognition for what must have been his best year to date. Holmes for me, though.

I expect Henman earned plenty of money during what must have been his best year to date. Which is more than the boring git deserves. Tennis is rubbish.

Having your best year at tennis doesn't follow that you're any good. Millwall had their best cup year this year, and they got into Yerp, but they're not up for a gong. There is also the small fact that Henman is a moaning gobshite, and his speech would be excrutiating.

My innitial reaction was 'if the voting closed two minutes ago how did they present Flintoff with his trophy' but I guess they must have had a copy over there ready.

Lance Armstrong should have won the International one for the last 6 years running.

Cannot believe the Ryder Cup team didn't get the team award. Bloody hell they hammered, absolutely hammered the yanks in America.

Agreed with Botham's award tho

Me too, I thought the sprinters deserved that one since none of the British 4 even made the final of the individual event yet managed to beat the arrogant USA team (who've dominated the event for years) by perfoming slick changeovers, i.e. excellent teamwork.

FRUIT OF THE BLOOM
Kelly Holmes clearly deserved to win and rightly so.

More concerning was the fact that Freddie Flintoff came 3rd and was given his trophy by Vaughan in South Africa....

Now how can that be ? I thought the voting was going on until 5 mins before the end of the show.........fix if ever i saw it.

A complete farce, BBC ripping everyone of as usual/

Yep armstrong should have got it but he won it last year and this years tour was a walk in the park for him compared to others.

all things which went against him winning

what a gash year

I hate Tim Henman. Loser. Just like Ratcliffe. Why cant he ever show any emotion? (apart from his clenched fist "c'mon" which he only does because he has been told to). His mentality is exactly the reason why England never win at everything. "I'd like to go as far as I can". Bollocks. I want to win. Nothing else. Thats what the Aussies and the Germans think, and thats why they do.

Yes, but Henman doesn't quit, he gives it his best and is flying the flag solo for British tennis.
