Isn't one called James Cracknell or similar and it's his second or third consecutive gold as well?

pincent if he retires

He won't retire. I'm not sure of his age but he has at least one more Olympics in him.

No offence intended. My point is that as sports 'personality' it's pretty much a popularity competition so the public need to know their names.

.........that said, to me, 'personality of the year' seems an odd phrase to use to honour the likes of Steve Davis, Princess Anne, Nigel Mansell and Seb Coe.

Anyway, whatever, Kelly Holmes will absolutely piss it, and deservedly so. A fantasic achievement.

Holmes must be a shoo-in.
Even Gareth wouldn't lose money backing her :)

Before the Olympics I would have voted for Paula Radcliffe. However since her two gold medals, and the fact she comes from Kent my vote will go to Kelly Holmes.

Men's 4x100 relay team gets my vote for team of the year, to beat the USA in this event is outstanding.

Would have to go for Kelly Holmes, an amazing achievement to win both those events. As for Matt Pinsent, he can have it when he gets his fifth gold in a row, he can pop into the studio on the way home from being knighted at Buck House...

The team award must go to the English Cricket team

Absolutely right, a 7-0 test record in a year has to be rewarded. Some real stars in that side now.
