I thought we sorted that out. I'm f***ed if I'm doing it though, I can't be bothered.

Yeah we did. Panic not, the guy has got to arrange it yet, and with any luck he won't be able to get it sorted.

The things we do under the influence eh?

For those who don't know what Chappers is on about, he agreed - with as much sobriety as he could muster - to Trevor Watson's request to be the arse end of a pantomime horse at the Albion raceday. With my brother (Seagull73) at the front.

I knew - I JUST BLOODY KNEW - that they would try and worm their way out of this.

I'm gonna call Trev in a minute and REMIND him of your commitment to making an arse of yourselves.

It was a great evening. I had long chats with many of the players - they all seem like nice people.

They were travelling to Burnley today to get ready for a game they believe that they can win.

One thing did make itself apparent on that evening.

I was talking to Alexis Nicolas about the Archer/Bellotti years. Understandably, he knew nothing about what happened. We were watching some matches on the screen from the Goldstone, and I flippantly said 'ah, that was when we had our own ground...'.

Alexis said 'did you actually own it?' I said, 'yeah, it was sold for £7m by the club, and sold on a year later for £24m'. Alexis' reply was interesting. Of all things he could have said, he actually said 'I'm not surprised they got £24m for it...'

A fair amount of the players who came through our youth system were well aware of what was happening back then. Chris McPhee said he was in the middle of it when he used to stand near Bellotti in the West Stand, but most other players were not so familiar with our story.

It occurs to me that one or two of the players might benefit from being given/lent a copy of 'Build a Bonfire'.

It was also interesting that some of the players had no idea who the other teams in the drop zone were playing - I guess they are just concerned with us picking up points and less worried about what others do. Where as I am just as bothered about al the other teams results
