Deadline day panic buy, and yet another waste of space in an overcrowded group of mediocre midfield players. His best spell in La Liga? The best part of 5 years ago now for a mid table side, before he soon became a fringe player.

Friday August 31st, the day Poyet killed our season, dismantling a midfield that was looking good up until that point.

Having watched from the comfort of my armchair then must say he was absolutely brilliant today. Up and down the flank was a pleasure to watch, Defence was great and his attacking instincts was second to none. His all game approach was fantastic. Worthy of a start in the next game without a doubt. He's really starting to find his feet and is an enjoy to watch.

Huh? You make it sound like giving new players a chance to fit into a team before forming an opinion is somehow cheating.

This thread was started after only three appearances that lasted more than 45 minutes.

Rushing to judge someone without giving them a chance is not some brave action that needs to be defended with digs at people who were reasonable enough to give the guy a chance. Judging players isn't a race. It's not a case of first one in gets a prize, and pinning your colours to the mast first doesn't absolve you of criticism when you are shown to have jumped the gun.

(I wonder how many more cliché metaphors I can squeeze in)
