There were engineering works last week between Hastings & Bexhill. It actually improved the service to Falmer. The fast diesel from Ashford to Brighton was changed to an electric, starting from Bexhill, with extra carriages & stopped at Falmer. The diesel doesn't usually stop there. Bexhill to Falmer in 50 minutes! Same this weekend according to the timetable.

I'm not complaining, I'm in no big rush on match days, but it didn't improve it for me. I like the 10 minute stroll to Ore station for the 13.18 that takes us straight to Falmer with no changes personally.

Further to poor old Norman's bus replacement service breaking down - last week the one we boarded from Hastings was a bit farcical. After several attempts by the bus driver, that oddly involved turning the engine off and off again several times, she announced " Sorry folks you'll have to get off and get on another one, I can't get it in reverse " True story.
