Looking at the final table I wonder whether our friends from Hampshire will be the force everyone is expecting them to be in the division next season? Discounting the 10 point penalty they would have finished 5th this season - below Millwall and Charlton. I don't think they are the foregone conclusion to win the title next season some people see them as so maybe Inigo is hitching his cart to the wrong wagon? As for budgets if I was the chairman/owner of a club I'd have far more faith entrusting the 5th highest playing budget in the division than giving the highest to dear old Alan Pardew!

After the Calderon incident I'd like to see us reciprocate by banging in a semi serious bid for Lee Barnard. If all it achieves is to unsettle things at St Mary's a little bit it would be worth it. It's high time this charisma-less (if that's even a word!) son of Palace learnt that Brighton and Hove Albion don't exist solely as a scouting network for him. On the plus side I fully expect the hex we hold over him to continue with at least 4 points out of 6 next season.

Keep the faith and bollocks to everyone and everything in Hampshire!!

Great post - Bollocks to Southampton!

During our plunder of their best players I wouldn't mind Kelvin Davies as competition for Brez!

What you failed to mention was that for the first ten games we had a thread bear squad of players. Whilst in administration, we were selling key players off at a rate of one a week just to keep the club going. Pardew came in with a matter of days before the start of the season and with no players. Thats why we started so appaulingly. In the end we were one win off automatic promotion (with our points back obviously).

I'm quite a caucious supporter but I can only see promotion for us next season, especially with the absence of Leeds, Norwich and maybe Charlton.

The same posts we had from Leeds fans who spent 4 years in League 1.......

2007 to 2010 = 3 years. Anyway, Northerners are clueless and Leeds didnt have the brass to burn like we do.

I think they did but they didn't want to go on a spending spree and then go back into administration. I hate to say it but Leeds is one of the biggest clubs in England and they turnover a great deal more than you ever will.

You only have a passing acquaintance with the English language then Redneb and no apparent problem with your club splashing the cash after exiting administration? I wonder what your views are on the shower of shite just down the coast from you?
