I liked my counsel that the pitch will play well on day three. You see, I know it all. Except, of course, when I'm wrong.

I've just finished watching it faux live, thanks to modern technology. So I didn't know the result. I've watched most of the match. Such an absorbing affair.

Markram's innings, given the circumstance, occasion and the opposition, was one of the best Test innings I've ever seen. If I was a county secretary, looking for a top order overseas player, I would be having a chat with the treasurer. Bedingham, who would have qualified and quite likely represented England had it not been for BREXIT, has done well at Durham.

I know it's a well worn colloquial, but cricket was the winner here. I could feel the Saffers emotion. Test is best.

England really need to start taking this competition seriously, when you look at what it means to the team's who've made the final it makes the sniping from the English press look ridiculous.
