Mr Coppell you say that this wouldn't be an issue if the stadium was sorted out. Now hang on a minute you knew the score when you arrived. You know how much work Dick Knight and Martin Perry have done to try and get the stadium. You know its going through a public enquiry and you know that decision won't be made until November.

What it seems to me you are saying is that you don't have faith in Dick Knight and do not believe we will get the stadium.

Dick Knight has shown you tremendous loyalty and gave you an opportunity at a great club, he waited for 6 weeks whilst you went to Thailand for you to make a decision about whether you would sign for another season when presumably you were seeing if any better offers would come up in the meantime.

You then give the signature for a 1 year contract and then 3 months later when we are top of the league you want to speak to Reading !.

Let me tell you that you will not get the opportunity to work with a better chairman than Dick Knight and you are your own man here. You will not get the same from Madjeski. He will use you. This man harps on about loyalty but kept Pardew waiting for a contract for ages and only relented when Reading went into Div 1. He then has the cheek to criticise Pardews loyalty !.

Steve you can buck the trend and not go for the quick money and will gain huge respect at the Albion and also the whole football world by seeing the bigger picture by staying at Brighton.

Dick Knight is right however in saying don't wait too long, we are not going to beg you to stay. We have lost 3 great managers before you and still thrived and we will again.

Saturday showed you how much the fans want you, we have done our bit.

You are regarded as a man of honour and integrity I guess the next 24 hours will prove that right ot wrong.

to be honest you cant blame coppel, if someone came to you and said i'll double your salary ,would you turn the job down?

he has no loyalty to brighton, so why should he stay?

Falmer is at least 4 years away (If it ever happens!)

my message to steve is-

thanks for everything, good luck in your new job.

Because Dk gave him a job when no other club wanted him?

Because he signed a contract with us?

Because I f***ing hate Reddung and that slimeball chairman of theirs?

I'm sure there are more reasons but I'm too pissed off with the whole situation to add any more.

well said GG

Although the only reason IMO that he signed for 1 more year was because no other clubs at the time came in for him so he thought "yeah I'll carry on with BHA and make them good in Div 2 and wait for a bigger club to come along".

but are you telling me, that when it comes to your career ,your not selfish?!!!

you always have to put yourself and your family first.

Chill everybody.....life goes on, we have got good managers in the past and we will do again.

I agree Popkins that we will get the right manager.

However about careers. If you had been chucked out of a couple of jobs and then one company showed faith in you and everyone there supported you would you really be offski to a souless corporation for a bit of extra cash?

AFAIK there is no Salary doubling here.

AFAIK DK would match any personal terms that JM offered

Good old Sussex by the sea!
I think you are right RLZ, Dick Knight appears to put money into our manager instead of the team.

However, it would appear that Steve Coppell has a problem with the whole package at the club - his moaning about the lack of money for a decent full-time scout is like a stuck record!:nono:

That is what I heard as well.
It would be such a shame if he went and then we get the Falmer in a couple months. I want him to be the man to lead us out at our new stadium.

spot on!!

but lets not poo our panties just yet, we're top of the league, and we have a pretty decent squad of players who ARE passionate about playing for the best team in the land. Fcuk coppell, managers come and go, but the spirit of the club goes on, we've been through it before- and undoubtably we'll go through it again,

keep the faith boys!
