The defence appears to be no better than last season hence we are now in for a long fight against relegation...Smith sadly is not very good and doesn't instill confidence in the players in front of him ...

What is the relevance of the goals today? Whoever was at fault, does it change any of the following things:
Whing is nowhere near as good as Hoyte.
Smith has conceded a phenomenol amount of goals for us.
Elphick has been at fault for more goals than any other player this season.
El-Abd is a very poor left back.

People on here are attempting to excuse them because we are playing the best in the league. At the beginning of the season we also were expected to do well, so to continuely concede so many goals comes down to the basic truth, these players are not good enough.
Someone on hear got sacked for gross misconduct for not following managers orders, I can think of a few more to add to the list!
