Roger Whittaker!

One of the all-time great singer-songwriter-musician-whistlers. And a fluent speaker of Swahili!

He had such a warm, personable stage presence. My family and I played his Canadian-issued records constantly, and we finally had the chance to see him in concert in Ottawa in the mid-eighties. He didn't sing as many of our favourite French songs as we'd expected, but my goodness, what an engaging, avuncular performer.
