If you've not heard this before, it's well worth a listen. Great story, superbly told. Dean Saunders telling the story of when Cloughie tried to sign him.
Only the names and the facts have been changed...
This is one of Saunders's after-dinner anecdotes he does on the circuit, and I think it later emerged that he's taken more than a bit of 'artistic licence' with it. Pretty sad, using a legendary name who'd been broken by his descent into alcoholism in order to generate a few cheap laughs.
