Absolutely. I know that he's talented and feeling his way at this level. Knowing when to play like an away team is not advanced level management.

In the St Pauli tactics videos we perused last summer, from memory, the whole thing was built on a team condensed in the opposition half. With two outstanding pivots with pace able to disrupt counter attacks long enough for support to arrive.

The fastest league in the world, the PL, has an array of clubs aiming and able to play patient low or mid blocks, waiting for that one opportunity to steal a goal. CP have done it for 12 seasons, Dyche, Moyes, Emery, Silva, even Arteta is now obsessed with stealing a 1-0 win.

Plus that old truism that teams win who win the CM battle. No more so than in a derby. Pack it out with battlers.

FH failed to learn from the Amex fixture.

Nope. Not this time. Palace weren't good. A draw was the least we could have expected. This current lot are great whenever they face a big team that wants a football match. They have failed again and again when facing any team that wants a fight. The same errors every time. Over commit, lose concentration, leave space in behind. The new anti football types: Forest, Villa, Palace all set up to play for those moments. We know that because teams did it to us repeatedly throughout November and December. Yet despite all the talk of learning and improving we still see the same approach. There is nothing wrong with being pragmatic in these games rather than being the mugs every time. We can do it. We did it away at Newcastle and won 1-0. Aspinall is right to criticise. This wasn't just another game against a tough opponent. This was a grudge game not to lose against a team that has only one way of playing. We let them play the way they wanted. Naïve, weak and unfortunately, typical.
Bang on.

When Johnny said, "Yes Warren, Baleba hasn't had a good game today"
Warren replied, "Today? How about the last couple of months?".

Feels a bit harsh.

However he does have two distinct ways of playing:

Against a big club: shop-window mode. Sharp and totally on it.

Against everyone else: casual mode. Still very good but a lower intensity.

Went today.
Wouldn't call any off the players out. Thought their body language and commitment was spot on.
What Pi**es me off is this high press all the time. Injuries, hit on the counter. We have a team with pace and passing technique, that's when we are dangerous.
Our attacking moves lately are like watching 11 a side on a 5 a side pitch.
