Martin Tyler said he READ this week an ARTICLE by some BUFFOON who said it's BETTER if Leicester FINNISH second instead of WINNING the Premier as they won't PAY out the BONUS if they do.
Probably the SAME idiot who says on HEAR that it's BETTER if we stay in the CHAMPIONSHIP as we will WIN more games.

I FEEL like STICKING my head in the OVEN due to the AMOUNT of STUPIDITY around these DAYS.

Win is all the MATTERS , who remembers LOOSERS ?

Leicester City's finances could be even stronger if they don't win the Premier League according to Kieran Maguire, a specialist in sports finance from Liverpool University.

Finishing second would mean they wouldn't pay out as much in bonuses to the manager and players, but they would still cash in on being in the Champions League next season.

Kieran is actually not very good at finance... not someone I would be wanting teaching finance to my kids.

So Leicester would be better off losing the next two games in order to come second? How is this achieved without getting the players to throw the games? Those same players who get a bonus for winning the division? Er... what ? Bit like asking Turkeys to vote for christmas.

You're confusing Leicester City Ltd's finances with those of the employees.

Rainieri is on a £5 million bonus, the players would get about £15 million.

The additional income for being one place higher is about £1.25 million.

Leicester already have qualified for the Champions League, so no change to income there. They have no sponsorship clauses for winning the league, and every match is already sold out, so no extra matchday revenue either.

Ah, but what about the sponsorship implications for being champions as opposed to being chokers?

It may have been written by Mr. Wenger given the consecutive top 4 finishes without finishing 1st.

Their main sponsors are a company owned by the owners so it makes little difference as the money ultimately all ends up in the pocket of one person.

Of far greater intrigue is the affairs of a company to whom they sold all their marketing and commercial rights. This company managed to increase the commercial income of Leicester by £12 million the year they were promoted to the Premier League, and so complied with FFP.

This is a fantastic achievement by a company that had no phone number or website during this period, and just one employee, the son of Sir Dave Richards, former PL chairman and who was due to take over as Chairman of LCFC, but mysteriously didn't .
I
Sir Dave has strong business links with Thailand, where the LCFC owners (and as former Albion managers know) and ladyboys reside.

All very confusing and DULL in the eyes of many.

I do feel you have omitted the exposure and raised profile, which comes with huge commercial gain, in other parts of the planet.

The numbers would suggest otherwise. Other countries will revert back to their favourite clubs quite quickly.

Leicester will do well in Thailand due to the owners, but that's about it.
