Radio 2 canned Ken Bruce (with the sublime Pop Master) plus turfed Simon Mayo from his excellent Drivetime show. Haven't listened to either since

You can listen to the original version on Greatest Hits Radio and even better an extended version on More4 tonight at 8PM. A little bit clunky to start with as a different format (5 punters over different rounds, 1 at at time go until we have the final 2 when it reverts to the 39 pointer we know and love). Adverts a bit of a pain, good time to head to the wine cooler which is not really an option for the radio version at 10.30AM!

Next one is on tomorrow at 8PM!

Enjoyed that on TV. At least we can be sure in this format that the contestants aren't secretly Googling the answers!

(for music quiz fans there are also a couple of episodes of 'Pop Quiz' from the 80's on iPlayer at the moment)

I was under the impression Ken jumped ship, maybe with a view to make the most from Popmaster eg. a TV gig.

Been catching up with these.

Pretty poor productions but am impressed with the quality of the contestants, some really know their stuff.

Still sulking I didn't get on.
