Assumong that the players on loan all left before the transfer window, and we could only strenghten the team by one player (theoretically) what position should that player be in?

Would it be a goalkeeper, to increase competition, defence or midfield for strengthening what we already have, or another striker as cover or to partner Forster?

A backup keeper would be good to push Kuipers, but Sullivan is doing ok so far. Paying for a player who wont play isn't the best option. I'd say a midfielder, since O'Callaghan and Martot aren't permanent (yet).

If we added a natural defender, that automatically gives us a player (from that position) who slots into the midfield.

Still, I wouldn't want us to just brush aside the interest in a middleman like O'C.

So, imo we should try to agree terms with George O'Callaghan, but still be looking for the new Mark Lawrenson

providing we keep o'callaghan, then a creative wide man. cox just isnt doing it this season, and martot is yet to really convince he can play out there

if we dont sign o'callaghan, then another central midfield player in a similar mould. dont think its any coinicdence that our really good form has come since he has joined
