After saying in midweek he could easily drop seven players and Vicente was a deffo starter. Just where will Gus swing the axe and can anyone foresee any major surprises? Personally I don't think he can drop Ankergren as the other options just simply are not good enough. If he drops a full back surely it can only be one as Vincelot cant play left and right full back at same time. I think Noone and Dunk are certain to come back in and I think he will start with Hoskins up front with Cms....Could he possibly drop Greer and replace with Cook??...now that would be a big call on Poyet's part. I think today is quite possibly the biggest game of his managerial carrer to date. Stop the slide and all is well, lose badly and heads will drop very quickly around the camp and problems will arise.

Agree with most of this, can't see him dropping Greer for two youngsters.

I think he'll drop Painter and Barnes (him less for poor performance but to spice it up a bit and see what Hoskins has to offer) With Vicente playing behind CMS and Hoskins I think there could be a big surprise in midfield .. for me none of Dicker, Sparrow, or Navs inspires and Harley has been just garbage .. so may he drop a youngster in? Lot depends on how he uses Vincelot who I think will start at FB or in that MF pos

Defo 1 big surprise today ... maybe it'll be Casper?

I think this is a huge game for Gus too .. a lot of eyes will be on him!!

With so many goals leaked, you would think the back five are feeling very anxious. Brez probably deserves the game as what is the point of him being there if poor performances from Casper doesnt ever get him the nod. Time to step up?
Back four is tricky. Only Cook and Romain to cover. Cant see Gus dropping the skipper and Dunky surely is the better option than Cook in the middle. Calde has already been dropped so reckon he is safe. Romain looked really good at LB when Paints was out so that could be the other change, even though I would like to see Romain midfield between Liam and the others.
Vicente and Liam nailed on and also surely Nooney. One from the rest?? Never really rated Sparrow, but perhaps time for him to step up, though reckon Harley will come good, real good, alongside the Dagger
Surely time for Hoskins to partner CMS upfront. CMS may get tired (?????) so would be great to have Barnesy off the bench.

So if I was Gus, it would be minimal carnage and I'd go with:-

Brezovan
Calderon Greer Dunk Vincelot
Noone Bridcutt Vicente Harley
CMS Hoskins

subs:- Ankergren Sparrow Dicker Lua Lua Barnes

Not any options in the subs if a defender gets injured. Would prefer to see Vincelot start in midfield as that is where he was successful at Dagenham and Redbridge.

Would that be the same Dagenham and Redbridge that are now in division 2?....Defence is where I think he should be, look very comfortable at left back.

This is too drastic, but the only definites I see are

Mackail-Smith, Vicente, Bridcutt

Ankergren
Calderon Cook Vincelot Painter
Bridcutt Navarro
Vicente
Mackail-Smith Barnes Lua lua

Subs: Brezovan Greer Sparrow Noone Dicker

(Dunk omitted)

I have never got it right to Poyet's thinking yet. Close but I always get one wrong, and Lua lua may not be risked.

It seems Gus wants to play the passing game but certain players like Noone thrive in a more direct game.

Might as well have a go, I reckon;
Ankergren
Calderon - Greer - Dunk - Vincelot
Bridcutt
Dicker - Noone
Vicente
CMS - Hoskins

Subs - Brezovan - Lua Lua - Sparrow - Cook - Barnes

Having said that I totally trust Gus to get it right and will support his decision completely

I'd like to see Hoskins come on or even start but Barnes hasn't really done anything wrong and he tracks back all the time. I'd like to see Vincelot at LB because I don't really think Painter has adapted that well. As for Sparrow, Dicker and Harley have been SO poor I think he deserves his chance!

Yes Kev, he scored 12 goals last season playing for a shit team! I thought he was excellent at left back against Liverpool, but very very poor at right back against Palarse. Then again, they were all shit against Palace. I'd have him alongside Bridcutt, Harley can supply the half time oranges!

No way will Greer be dropped.

That is what I was going to post, exactly that. Last chance for Sparrow, really attacking line-up.
