Well next year it will be 65, now that we are paying monthly direct debits for our season ticket come October will my payments be changed to OAP rate or will I have to see out the entire season before my payments are reduced..?

Sorry, can't help you there. I though this was going to be a thread about your teeth falling out and the prolification of ear hairs!

Isn't it normally worked out at your age by a certain part of the season/pre season

so if you are unfortunate to turn 65 during the season you still pay the going rate but switch to OAP for next season?

You will not get a birthday card from the club. It's your money they are after. You will get some money from the government. ( This is not really a gift as you have previously given money to the government, so that they can give it to you back in drips and drabs.) On the face of it you will have plenty of free time, this is a myth as either time speeds up or you slow down.
There is lots of other stuff, unfortunately it's difficult to remember as I was 65 in May.

I've just read that this years school leavers wont reach state retirement age until they're 77 as state pensions will be based on projected life expectancy. Those kids who go onto university after leaving school will just have about enough time during their working life to repay the student loan.

I'm still waiting for the announcement on when I become eligible for concessionary rates on various things. Under Labour I could have retired at 65 , with the ConDems its currently 66 with a possibility of it being 67.
