If Barry had been settled in the England team an extra year, I would say he was outstanding candidate for the job. Always carried himself well and seems to have a lot of respect for and from all other players. As a Villa fan I've been disappointed by his recent actions but still feel he would be a good choice.
As for the anti-England brigade, fair enough on all your points except when you simply say the players are not good enough. That's absolute rubbish as anyone with a brain knows. TEN players in the Champions League finals. Wake up.
I am also (like some of you) concerned by Fabio's slightly conservative squad choices so far (no Ashley Young, no Micah Richards?!) but I trust him as he is a proven manager and he will see anything less than winning something with England as a failure.
