So How Come The Bad Guy Is The 26 Goal A Season Striker Coached Down To 4 Or 5 Goals?

Fair enough, The Albion moved up a level but so far as I can see, Leon's bit the bullet and swapped Goals Scored for such team-minded things as playing on the wing, providing assists, getting back up when he gets knocked down without clutching his head like a poor baby every time, generally scapping for the ball with the best of them, and - like any player that cares - not taking kindly to be subbed.

IMHO he's worked his balls off on the field, despite having 20 goals a season coached out of him.

Leon Knight, He's Alright

He scored at League 1 level for Huddersfield, moved UP a division and couldn't do it at Sheff Wed.
Dropped to League 1 with us and scored, when promoted couldn't do it.

:p

He was played on the wing at Sheffield Wednesday.

Sorry Tom but I agree with Yorkie, He has never proven himself in the Championship...........and as I have said in another thread even Virgo scored more for us last season.

Play a striker out on the wing Locky, he's unlikely to score very many.

1) Was played on the wing at Wednesday, was a teenager?
2) Has done it - albeit not consistently, but people who simply claim he "can't do it" at this level just show up their lack of knowledge of the game.

And how many times has he been played on the wing this season.............

Dunno. At a guess, more than the times has been told to mooch around the box, where he's most effective.

My problem with him is not his ability (or apparant lack of) to score goals but his attitude towards being a team player.

Tho, on the pitch, I'd suggest that he's been playing much more as a team player than he was when he was scoring a shitload of goals.

Not many but it has been done to death already on here by the Kinkybucktoadyirish crowd.

Bit hard to score from being made to play out on the wing

A good point, and one missed (or ignored?) by the anti-Knighters.
