So How Come The Bad Guy Is The 26 Goal A Season Striker Coached Down To 4 Or 5 Goals?

He has NOT proved himself at CCC level... his goal record is very poor, and he is a striker after all... if we can get rid, and get an experienced CCC striker who can actually score at this level, as skillful as Leon or otherwise, then I, for one, will be more than happy...

the worrying thing (team-wise) is that i can't remember leon actually missing that many chances

The worrying thing for me is I dont see Leon getting into the positions to take any chances.

Yep and who will create the chances?

The guy with far and away our most assists this season, Sebastian Carole, probably followed by Chippy/Frutos.

Yep and what if Carole gets injured?

Then Frutos and Jarrett get their turn on the flank, or possibly even Knight if he disciplines himself to play in the interests of the team.

IMHO, Leon has made quantum leaps to 'discipline himself' and reconfigure his natural game to play in the interests of the team, and should be applauded BIGTIME for it. The team as a whole has benefited from it, even tho Leon himself doesn't have much to show for it stats-wise. Tho I guess the bruises are real enough. But in the end, he's not a McGhee signing, and, fair do's, every manager sees things differently. Still think the 26 goal thing was a bit of a hint as to his best position tho... ???

When he dropped back into midfield early in the season, he got massive applause for his performances and from McGhee. McGhee then gave him the great honour of leading the team out as captain, when in truth it should have gone to one of the older pros, but McGhee did that to reward Leon.

Alas, Leon could not keep this consistent team play up. Despite being selected in what you say Tom is his natural position as striker, his contribution has waned in the last six weeks. McGhee rewarded him with consistency of selection, but Leon has not rewarded either McGhee or Albion fans with consistency of performance, that's the extent of it.

But fair play to you, Tom, you must be the only one on NSC who is a member of both the Leon Knight Fan Club and the Jake Robinson Fan Club, both those packs of scrawny NSC kids are usually tearing each other's eyes out on here

Thanks. I'll take that as a compliment. I am indeed a big fan of both Leon and Jake. Guess that makes me a BAD FAN.

Oh well.
