good question

I think Ronnie is the most gifted and natural player ever though not the most successful. I vote Ronnie for his flair

Hendry was superb though very composed

You missed the option for Tony Drago...

On a serious note, Ronnie is the most naturally talented, but imo the 'best' has to be Hendry for his past achievements (despite the score today:ohmy:)

When i first got into snooker it was Alex Higgins then he was overtaken by Jimmy White.
Ronnie has taken the game to another level and when he is in the right mind is just simply a genius.

Joe Davis.

UNDEFEATED in every one of the fifteen World Snooker Championships from 1927 to 1946.

Beaten just FOUR times in a career that lasted for FORTY YEARS.

First player EVER to score 147.

I was just about to post something very similar m'lud.

Got to ask yourself why guys like Steve Davis and Stephen Hendry rarely make the frame nowadays. I mean, it's hardly a PHYSICAL game. Guys like Joe Davis used to play snooker at the highest level for their entire working lives. How come nowadays the players are also-rans by their forties or even thirties? Me no understand.

At this moment it's O'Sullivan but in his pomp Hendry dominated the game far more than him and gets my vote.

Ronnie is the most natural player the world has ever seen. However he is let down by not always having the winning mentality. So if we are talking about the most gifted player then it must be Ronnie, however if we are talking about the player that is able to grind out games and be consistent then I would say Stephen Hendry. He is still able to win games against the top players despite not being as good as them anymore. That is down to his ability to keep focused and not give up.

Though if Ronnie is able to keep his demons in check and stay focused then the other players on the circuit are going to have to get used to playing for the runners-up spot. His ability to make the game look easy is amazing.

Hendry and Davis are right up there for me.

I am tempted to include Ronnie O Sullivan, because of the natural talent he has. However I feel at times he is a troubled person and lets it effect his game.

Joe Davis dominated the sport for ages. But I'm not sure the competition was that good.

Steve Davis dominated the sport when the competition was a lot better.

Ronnie O´Sullivan doesn't yet dominate the sport but he's getting close, and the competition is shit hot.

He's probably the greatest player ever, he just needs to change his name to Davis to make sure

Straight shootout between Ronnie and Hendry, most ability versus most titles. I'd give it to Ronnie because he would rather play the perfect shot/frame/match than win at all costs, and I like that attitude.

Cliff Thorburn said this week that if anyone asks him who was the greatest player ever, he just says obviously the one who has made a 147 in practice with his wrong hand. So that's Ronnie.

I don't think Joe Davis had much to beat and probably would struggle against the top eight now, but he did make the first 147 and the equipment was vastly inferior then, so it's fair shout.

Hendry for me as O'Sullivan blows hot and cold.

Ronnie though could be an all time great if he wanted to but falls in and out of love with snooker.

Hendry dominated for a long time and was consistant beyond belief.

I would also say the Golden Nugget has achieved more than O'Sullivan.
