John Higgins became the first-ever player to compile maximum breaks in successive matches after his 147 at Brighton.

The world number four, who knocked in a maximum during the LG Cup final at Preston last month, constructed another in the fifth frame of his second-round match against Michael Judge in the British Open.

The break put Higgins 4-1 ahead - one frame away from victory - and will earn him £20,000 plus £5,000 as the highest break of the televised phase.
