Hither (sometimes Thither)
I would like to buy a camera. My phone of course has one, but i have decided i would like some devilish order in my output.
I reckon i have 300 nuggets to spend.
I would be honoured by recommendations.

I imagine you with something like this.

:)

You imagine me living inside one of those. Maybe just a european summer lodger as company with a leather hide and poetic gumption.

I do actually want a camera. I stop and take pictures of things like parts of bananas stood on by accident and a pool of wasps encased in their queenless circle on the pavement.

I got one of these for my 19th birthday and it still works.

I feel unaidsed.

I wouldn't mind something that costs a few pence and allow me store the things i gently spot. I don't like the idea of shots of friends or family or weddings or chistenings. I simply want to save cracks and concrete chasms and plants that look like bats and dogs giving dirty looks and mannibals in masquerade.

Digital would be my preference, yes.
The furthest i'd go would be pro-celebrity, but i think i just wish to snap things visibly, and quite possibly morally, crooked.

Hurrah!
Thanks a lot NS. Some knowledge and usage rather than a series a tomfooleries soured in my vinegary presence.
Will look that up.
Or buy a portable, obedient gaggle of Easy's caimans.

A pro advises:
Take your money and go to Park cameras (preferably the one in Burgess Hill, but the one in Haywards Heath is okay, too). Avoid Jessops / Currys / Dixons / PC World and such stores like the plague.
Tell the helpful and knowledgable assistant how much you've got to spend and ask to see the best Nikon, Canon, Fuji and Sony options available for such a budget.
See how each one feels in your hand and buy the one you feel most comfortable with.
That's it. You will not be disappointed.
