When we were waiting for Falmer news, and I wanted to cop the announcement as early as possible, I signed up for the 88442 messaging service.

I now get a lot of messages that I don't want - like Wilkins' post-match comment on games that I've been to, or heard on the radio.

How on earth can I unsubscribe? The usual 'reply: unsubscribe' doesn't work.

maybe reply "stop" to the number?

You could try 'Thanks for last night. Did I leave my false leg at yours?'. That should stop any messages coming your way.

texting "stop" is the standard for ICSTIS or Regtel regulated lines, if it doesn't stop then you can take a complaint
