This may come as a shock to all the sanctimounious, holier than though people on here but non smokers also die. Infact I have seen many non smokers die before age 60 who never smoked a fag in their lives. Who are they going to blame ? When the smokers are banished to hell you can bet the next cleansing project from our society will be alcohol and then fast food and then dangerous sports and then you can all live in a totally risk free society where the individual has no choice on how to live their lives anymore.

This, this and this..freedom to live and freedom to die!

And the country will suffer. £12.1 billion in tax this year alone generated by the sale of fags and tobacco. Where is that going to come from when everyone packs up?

There won't be a National Health Service to support the smokers anyway, so that's £100bn saved by the government every year. Much more than the £12.1bn lost in taxes.

It's about personal choice and education. Yes, non-smokers die, of course they do. Quality of life, now that's the point. I thought drinking was the biggest killer?

I don't think so. I'm certain smoking is a bigger killer than drinking. Interestingly, 80 to 95% of alcoholics smoke cigarettes.
