Why oh why oh why do people think if we had Falmer we would be getting 10k plus- No we wouldn't there is still all the parking restrictions - no tickets on the gate fiasco even with Falmer we would only be getting 7/8 k at present.
i know a lot of brighton supporters who do not go to home games because of the withdean factor!
getting people to part with 25 quid to sit half a mile from the pitch
and with no roof are all major factors.
if or when falmer happens im sure the crowds will rise because the facilities would be far superior and even if you had to buy your ticket in advance and on the day it was raining you wouldnt get a soaking!
if we had falmer i would guarantee you that the crowds would rise1

At Falmer, spectators could buy a beer or an Uncle Sams. They could sit in relative comfort under a proper roof. The club could offer incentives to fill the ground. Pre-match entertainment would not be capped to 10 minutes before kick-off. there could be seperate lounges for STH, club members, proper hospitality, bigger club shop on site, could buy tickets for future games while attending current game etc. etc.

No comparison whatsoever with Withdean.

At least the Commercial Department would have a level playing field to work on. Absolutely no reason why thealbion couldnt 'Do a Reading'

Easy! :clap2: Easy! :clap2: Easy! :clap2:

I notice that even non-league Oxford managed over 11,000 - that's nearly double our Boxing Day attendance. :(

THat is not very surprising. Oxford is a bit of a 'sleeping giant' relatively. THey are playing decent football and they have a modern stadium (even if it is a cheap build). Years of mismanagement (Robert Maxwell/Kassam) has left them in the conference, but they will be back.

Absolutely. Falmer will bring a whole new world for us and anyone saying it won't be much difference from Withdean is way off the mark. On an average matchday at Falmer I would imagine myself getting to the ground, going for a drink, placing a bet, visiting the clubshop, getting to my seat early, maybe having a drink after the game at the ground. All this under a roof in a ground with a good atmosphere! I dream of the day!

We are , never, ever, ever, ever, ever, going to improve our "gates" on a regular basis without a F*****g roof over the stands...!!!! How long is it now at the Withdean..?...7 years...?....and at least another 3 to 4 years , even if we get Falmer. If the club had pursued the planning applications for a roof when we first got to Withdean, how much would it have cost...?...a million..? With roughly 4,500 seats in the South Stand that would work out at about an extra £1.40p per game. So, for £1 F*****g forty pence, for seven years, I,ve been soaked, frozen half to death by the wind, and had virtually no atmosphere at the games...........and the "casual" supporter is supposed to be impressed enough to come again....???????
No doubt many people will now tell me that for some obscure reason , that we can,t have a roof.....I,m sorry, but our Board,s insistence, that ALL our eggs are put in one basket (Falmer), is in danger now of putting this club,s future in serious jeopardy. Without future fans, Falmer is going to be a rather pointless excercise.
