Not in the least, but the fact that these clubs sell out every home game does prove that fans will organise themselves to obtain tickets in advance, that is all.

The idea of the floating fan who might pop down to Withdean on a Saturday does not really exist any more, especially at £24 a pop.

The 'discounted' 5 match tickets currently on offer at *cough* £104 and £110 will sell close to ZERO IMO.

If ticket prices were put up to £175,000,we'd only need to sell ONE to equal a 7000 gate;TWO and we're quids in.Small run on programmes,no Park and Ride,no litter patrols,no noise(so no change there).

And with all the clamour for West Ham AWAY tickets,there might even be a third buyer!

nearly all the clubs you have mentioned were playing local derbies! the crowds will come if falmer happens!
just remember that we were playing reading a year ago on their patch and they were top of the league and there were thousands of empty seats and now every game is a sell out!

middlesbrough had 32k against charlton and i went there with the albion 20 yrs ago and there was less than 5k.

so the point is to have a good team playing in a decent sporting arena and jo public will part with their cash!

Sorry Hans but things are coming to a very nasty head commercially for BHAFC and the fact that a lot of fans are now not going to renew will cause a serious problem to BHAFC.

Today I receive yet another PM from another pi$$ed of STH as the truth is slowly dawning on a major major f*** up by the club where they have alienated the STHs.

If you see all the other points I have raised then the club must buck their ideas up big time otherwise less and less people will become STHs.

Yes I will but there are a fair few who are pretty certain they will not at present.

I guess the time from when the dust settles with this and when the club ask for the renewal will be the acid test.

So you're predicting financial disaster for the club, but have no idea how many people this affects? Is it 500 STH? 100? 10? How many people do you personally know of?

Judging from the phone in upto maybe 500 odd who knows but clearly from last year these are rarely replaced they only go down therefore lost money when required to keep the club fluid during the Summer.

And BTW some with 10 year STHs not getting a ticket is a shambolic way to treat loyalty.

I suspect you will have a different view on this but I can see this really coming back to bite the club.

Might be wrong but think I saw quoted applications from 3500 STH so 1000 could be without and as I said previously there is an unknown amount of applications unopened yet.

I have an open mind on it. However I do suspect that we have only a relatively small number of disgruntled season ticket holders. Maybe you're right and come season ticket renewal time the club will suffer, but until we know what numbers we're talking about we can't really urge the club to make (another) change to the ticketing policy of big games. After all, whatever way they do it, somebody will be disappointed and no matter if they're a STH or not, their contribution to the club could be under threat.

The answer was yes further up and my feet are fine thanks.

I've got one of them and think they are great value, saves me £2.50 per ticket plus whatever bus fare or booking fee included. But for the floating fan i can't see many being taken unless someone has got a relative one for christmas, but personally i think that the offer should continue for the next couple of seasons as not everyone can stump up the full total at the beginning of the season

There are quite a few others as pi$$ed off or more but maybe not so vocal about it.

We will probably never find out the real truth but there are known facts:

Only 2,500 STH got tickets and there are beleived to be 4,500 therefore a shortfall of 2,000 so I would say 50% of them = 1,000 potentially.

Several I know have said you can stick your renewal you know where. BTW the way a lot did after Family Stand shambles last year and did not renew.

I hope this does not cause a major issue to BHAFC but we also know the STH renewal money keeps the club fluid through the Summer months.

1) STHs should *always* have first dibs on any ticket - home or away - to encourage renewals
2) STHs should be able to bring a friend for a tenner for any game although this should be subject to perceived demand.
3) Double the size of the club shop and sell a broader range of merchandise.

I disagree with no.1, Home games yeah but away games no! That just gives an unfair advantage to fans with the money to pay up front when there's other fans who will pay just as much ( if not more ) over the coarse of a season. It's allmost like pulling rank because some fans are richer than other's.

No.2 : There's scope for all fans to bring friends along at a reduced cost, We could start with kids! Maybe the more kids an adult brings along to a match the cheaper the tickets become.

No.3 : Maybe involve fans a bit more in ideas of merchandise and what they can do to sell it. After all it's taken an idea from a fan to sell more scarf's and a reason to sell them.
