It is excellent. So much better than a phone call. We use it to speak to our daughter at university. It shows there can be 10m users on-line at any time.
Absolutely brilliant! Does exactly what it says on the tin. I have never had a problem with quality whether it be calls within the UK, France or the USA. Very simple to set up and use.
You can see the person you talk to, if they have a webcam, and it's free person to person, if both have Skype.
You can also make calls to mobiles and house phones, at reduced rates.
Calling to the USA West coast to a house phone is about a penny a minute.
Over 1 hour for a quid!?
By the way - you have to have a soundcard in your p/c (in case anyone still doesn't!) and you need a mic and speakers (or a headphone set is better).
If your mic is too close to your speakers, you will get poor call quality/echo/feedback.
Means I can chat to my daughter in Florida for free, see her and her children.
Also good for calls to mobiles etc around the world.......only 1.2 pence a minute.
Lastly............when making one of those extended calls to Banks etc etc, it,s so much more relaxing and less stressful, sitting in a chair talking to the screen, rather than pacing the floor with a phone stuck to your ear........trying to understand Indian dialects...!
