I've just bought it! A couple of mayes have been raving about it, so I have taken the plunge. Not cheap (£260), hope it's worth it.

Anyone here got such a gadget? Was it worth it?

(With a 20 hour recording facitity I can record all the Albion's matches on Sky for the next decade!)

I have it and I think it's superb. I'm thinking of installing a bigger HDD though, I keep filling it up. Or maybe a DVDR machine to plug into it.

Either way, Sky+ is excellent, does exactly what it says on the ads.

20 hours might seem a long time but 'Gangs of New York' took up a whopping 17% of disc space over the weekend.

Is there any way to take the recordings of the HDD and copy them accross to a PC.

At the moment I use a Microsoft Media Center to do this functionality, however the machine that I have running this software is a little larger and noisy than a SKY+ box so I'd like to swap out, but only if could then pop recordings onto a PC.

If I can't do this I'll have to invest in some noise reduction PC components.

I think Sky + uses its own format so you can't transfer it to a PC.
