Just heard it on RI:SE, they didn't elaborate and I haven't got a clue what the implications are, but I am confident it will have no effect on the Coppell Crisis.

I think its a disgrace that Sky are even allowed to hold shares in Man Utd PLC. As a highly influential media tool that can have an effect upon all 20 Premiership clubs, it can use its bias (as it did in the past, less so now) to put Man Utd in a favourable position. And the payments for appearing on TV for the Champions League? Yep, Sky payments to Man Utd (and the Arse etc). OK, ITV had it for a bit, but not always...So they inadvertantly give money to a club in order to build its profile in the stock market, and then take dividends and share price increases, hence making Man Utd stronger and stronger.

Now I know you can't prevent a source from putting in money and then taking a dividend, but if you (as an investor) can have a directly detrimental effect upon all Man Utd's competitors then there is something wrong there. Note that Man Utd get the most TV revenue out of the lot of 'em as they appear the most. Its a shower of sh*te, and the whole system needs to be brought down from within.

Its a disgrace. Sky can basically control a great deal of the turnover of all the Premiership clubs and they give the most money to the club that they personally hold shares in! Surely there are legal restrictions on that!?!? They control the competition.

ahh but wilts, they are the only one s putting seriously money in. and now that Beckham has left MU, their Far East profile has taken a bit of a hit, so there is less need for Sky to be in with MU.

And given the deal they've just signed to show EVERY Premiership game, they can't afford to be linked to just one club anymore.
