This shouldn't be funny, but myself and a couple of other guys at work found this article off sky to be mildly amusing...

Mobility Scooter Crashes Through Train
Updated: 13:12, Thursday May 24, 2007

An elderly woman drove her mobility scooter on to a train with such force that she crashed through the opposite set of doors and fell on to the track.
The 80-year-old woman, who has not been named, suffered only minor injuries following the incident in South Tyneside.

Scooter crashed through doors. She drove her buggy - which has a top speed of 8mph - on to the Metro train at Brockley White station.

The scooter carried across the corridor and forced open the opposite set of doors before gettting stuck and tipping her on to the track.

The woman suffered bruising and shock but was released from hospital after treatment.

Metro operator Nexus said no door had ever been forced open on the light railway since the network began 27 years ago and called the incident "unprecedented".

A Nexus spokesman said: "The woman involved was released from hospital the same day after treatment for bruising and shock, and we have kept in touch with her since.

"We launched a thorough investigation into what happened which at this stage indicates the doors were not at fault.

"This incident is unprecedented in Metro history and we are absolutely confident our trains are safe.

"We don't wish to comment further while investigations continue."

Way out west
If one of us smashed up a train we would probably get a hundred hours of community service, or maybe even a custodial sentance, some old biddy in a mobility scooter does it and she gets treated for her injuries and concern from the rail company...British justice, pah...
