Is the colour of people's skin a problem for you?

It's clear this site is SWIMMING with RACISTS, so I'm interested in getting some numbers.

IMO, a lot of 'racist' problems are more cultural/religious than skin colour.

We are different in a lot of ways to many cultures around the world. This can often lead to conflicts (at an individual level as well as national/society level).

I also find that there are many types of white people that I wouldn't want to associate with.

I have no problem with anyones colour; it's just that I do not always relalte to certain 'groups' within society (probably it's because I don't understand them).

Yes, I do have a problem with skin colour.

I only got back from holiday 3 weeks ago, and my tan has already faded ffs.

In principal I don't think it's right to judge people negatively purely based on the colour of their skin or the country they come from. However, if I was to say that I don't make an initial judgement in my head when I come across somebody and that this doesn't include taking into account the colour of their skin or their nationality then I would be lying.

One meaning of racism is the belief that there are characteristics, abilities, or qualities specific to each race. If you disagree with that then I think you're an idiot. Human beings evolved differently with small (but obvious) physical characteristics that are unique to each race. It is very unlikely that these differences in our evolutionary paths are exclusive to physical characteristics.

I wouldn't think someone was necessarily a bastard just because of the colour of their skin. But there are some inescapable facts on race, which are backed up by my experience of living in London.

Being racist isn't a lifestyle choice though is it? you either are or you aren't, like being gay or disabled. How you display your racism, or not is another question.

For me racism/non-racism is not something I think I've inherently been born with. When I was young I didn't think I was racist at all. But then, I had a blissful sheltered upbringing in Sussex and simply didn't come across e.g. black people or muslims. The only non white people I met were Chinese and Indian, and all were fine in absolutely every respect. My opinion is based on experience and unfortunately, in recent years, that has not always been great.

Have all your experiences of white people been great?

I suppose everyone has tastes. Its like saying that you prefer blonde's or similar.

BUPA, I can afford it.

Oh I'm not questioning whether people can AFFORD it mate, I'm just letting some people know that they might well be looked after in their decrepit years, by Philipino, Sri Lankan, Pakistani, or African persons.
Better get wise any of you who might be looking for excuses to dislike non-whites, as (even Bupa will pay their wages when) they will look after your wizen and incontinent old arse.

So, what you are saying is that you have an EXCUSE for racist feelings, not that you embraced it.

Well, that's alright then
