I’m I right in thinking he is 86 today? My son met him last week in Sweeney Todd’s barbers and said Dick was in fine form.

Huh. If it wasn't for Dick Knight we wouldn't have a club ..... so all these recent problems with loss of Premier League form, De Zerbi, no European football next year, etc - are actually his fault! If he hadn't saved the club we wouldn't be suffering all this angst!

So, yes, Happy Birthday indeed Mr Knight.

I was lucky enough to have a chat with him a couple of weeks ago. I plucked up the courage to go up to him to thank him for what he’d done for the club and apologised for disturbing him. He told me he was waiting and asked me to sit down beside him and we had a 20 minute chat covering mostly the Albion. Apart from being a bit on the deaf side he was as sharp as a needle and as outspoken as ever.

Nice to meet a hero who didn’t disappoint.

The hard bit is not getting a chat with Sir Dick Knight. The hard bit is to get him to stop talking
