FRUIT OF THE BLOOM
Sherwood is the only one of all the candidates mentioned where we can guarantee attacking footaball.

Voted for Sherwood, would rather have seen Clement to consider as well, but don't think we can afford either of them or their playing budgets

Bookies have them down as front runners but what do they really know? They may have this right but Tony is fairly careful about keeping his cards close to his suggest. I would not be at all surprised if the final appointment comes as a surprise to many of us.

I hope so because I'm not really that thrilled about either front runner.

Can someone put a tenner on Mullers and get him in at 20-1. Tried and tested

I'd be very surprised if we went for either - neither seem like Bloom men, although Hughton maybe more of a possibility (I hope not, haven't found him at all convincing at his other clubs). I'm firmly in team Clement too - and I think he'd be more favourable to TB. But it does looks unlikely he would leave Real.

The odds reflect bets placed, not who the bookies think. It's the mug punters who have them down as front runners.

Incorrect

How do they initially price up an event so bets can then be placed if they don't 'think'

Why do you think that Victor Chandler has ALWAYS been the shorter price vis a vis one of the runners? He KNOWS

I guess you are told what to do at work, not think?

Very dangerous thing indeed to price a book without at least some knowledge. Bookies pay an awful lot of money to specialist researchers for just this sort of info.

Money will change odds it has to, to balance the book, but knowledge enables you to manipulate that to your advantage if you are the bookmaker.

I don't see where all this fuss about Clements has come from. He's a number 2 at a big club, sure, but that doesn't make him a good manager, look at Rene Meulenstein (spelling?) at Fullham. Surely by this theory we should be getting in Mike Phelan?! What am I missing here? We don't need a wild card, we need tried and tested, someone who knows what needs to be done. I'm sorry to say it but Pulis at Palace was an inspired decision. We need something similar.

I was praying no one would bring that thread back to life  I opted for the wrong guy but today I couldn't be happier. Brilliant day, great atmosphere and a result that the fans and the players thought was still possible even at 0-2.
