It was panic signings and as Bloom says the budget is highest in clubs history in terms of wages then we have been royally ripped off and the Ward situation sums it up that Burke balls up and relegation avoidance is the best we can hope for this season

It is a bizarre set of circumstances that because the club management is in denial we cannot react to this dreadful situation. It has been obvious for some time that player recruitment is dire and that the team manager is not able to put the resources he has at his disposal into any sort of good order. How a club management team can sit around failing to act is thoroughly bemusing. Those who talk about changing things in January / February are also deluded - the time for action has pretty well passed, but maybe, just maybe, decisive action now would still have a positive impact. I'm firmly of the opinion that Barber will be preparing his own exit, rather than hanging around to deal with the crap he's helped to create.
