You had to be incredibly thick not to have known how tough this season was going to be. Getting to and winning at Cardiff is worth whatever shit we go through this season. Are there people who would swop this division for where we were last season, I'm starting to think there are which is fecking unbelivable.

You just don't know that. The reason why we go to watch football is to FIND OUT that stuff. We've lost to the top 3 form teams in the league, you can't use that fact to say we won't win games.

i do know for a fact gillingham have a better side than us as i look at other teams players and squads

One thing Gillingham do have at this level is experience and a fairly settled side.

That said they struggled very badly last season and I expect them to do so again.

We just aren't good enough unless we get the cheque book out. Not for fees but for loans and free signings.
Our players just aren't up to it. You can't help but moan when you see complete crap on the pitch with idiotic tactics, team selection and substitutions, add that to players that aren't up to it and we are in serious trouble of being relegated before Christmas. Players like Mayo, Oatway, Currie, Hinshelwood and even mention Butters in that with his terrible distribution, are all not good enough to play in this division. The others are kids with a bright future and players that can just about hold their own. We need an Cultured midfielder like when we got Simon Rodger two years ago and another good relyable defender like Dean Blackwell. They are still injured and its two years on, they didn't play last year either. I am behind the team, but I'm not going to congratulate them for turning up and playing in this division like some people on here. That is what they are paid to do. I can't cheer a mistake or a badly placed pass or a daft substitution. They have got to get someone in that midfield thats gonna be an attacking player that can link up with the front and take pressure off the back. They have got to learn fast and so has McGhee and Knight. Knight shouldn't need reminding what we need to stay up. He should have learnt his lesson last time. I am also Sick of IT!

ffs, its 4 games in. A 4-0 win on Saturday (not that id back that score i'll grant you) and we could be 16th or 17th and above the likes Leicester, Sunderland or Wolves. Just a win would take us out of the bottom 3 as i dont see Crewe, QPR or Rotherham getting much joy in their games. A sneaky 0-1 at Leicester and we could be mid table by monday evening. Again i wouldnt bet on it, but its possible.

what im saying is, its a bit early to be writeing us off already. Given the youth of our team, they can only get better. Yes it'd be nice to have a few more players, but we all know the resources and facilities are shite and even if we *did* havean injection of say 5million we'd probably still have trouble attracting real quality players.

If we still bottom after 10 games, then have a moan. But until then lets get behind the the players.

I'm in two minds here.

Yes, three out of the four teams we've played are in the top three. Is that because they are that good or is it because they have had the pleasure of playing us?

I didn't expect too much from the likes of Reading and Wigan away. Coventry I thought we were unlucky to not get more from the game. Plymouth I was bitterly dissappointed with and McGhee is to blame.

We've played 4 games conceeded 9 goals and scored 3. I knew we would struggle and will be in the dog fight for most of the season. But I'm just not convinced by McGhee this season. I really hope I'm wrong.

Why does Jarrett constantly get subbed every game when he is usually the most effective player on the park? Why sub Molango?

Are they not fit? Why only play one up front against Plymouth at home?

I know we don't have much in the way of resources and I know it's going to be a tough season. But I don't think that McGhee is using the resources he has to their best potential.

I live in hope. The way I see it, Preston at home is a must win game. Or at the very least a performance like we had against Cov.

I live in hope...

Take your point. But Does anyone Remember the "we're only 4 points off safety" from the last time we were in this division? It was always, "if we win and get a draw and if they lose their next two games, we'll be out of the bottom three."
Just all sounds a bit the same, "what if we win our next 5? you won't be moaning then? will you?" The thing is that with the situation at our club with the players we have and strange non match winning subs by McGhee I can't see any sort of win. We just aren't playing well and if we're all truthful, we haven't played well since we beat Rushden 3-1 away last season.

What if, we don't win our next 3? what then?

Lets look sta these lesser teams we have played

Reading - only just missed out on the play-offs - gave them a good game, unlucky not to come away with a result
Wigan - only just missed out on the pay off final, signing players from Premiership clubs on frees, seriously determined to go up this season.
....................... and Coventry off whom we loooked as god for an hour, and nicked a point.

Far too early to start getting depressed.

Anyone remember our first season in the old First Division in 79-80?

Plymouth went to Cardiff a few days' later and won there too. You have got to stop under-rating them, the evidence of this season is that they are a very good team and far too good for us with all our current injuries and suspensions. Plymouth are playing much better than Reading at the moment because they are totally shutting down the opposition, wheras the Reading defence is giving you a chance.

I'm not under-rating them. Had we played like we did against Cov and still lost then I wouldn't have a problem. McGhee got it horribly wrong and worse still failed to notice this as early as everyone else in the crowd and change the shape early in the first halve. Plymouth were a goo side but nothing amazing. We made them look good due to McGhee's 'tactics'. That is what I was bitterly dissapointed about.

The reason Plymouth, Reading and Wgan at the top of the table is because they played us!
Just because they are good teams (Reading, Wigan) and pushing for the PL doesn't mean they have a devine right to beat us. Unfortunately, we seem to get beat in the tunnel against these sides. West Ham Leeds Sunderland Wolves Leicester Forest Derby, just because these clubs have more resorces and are looking to return to the premier, does that mean that they can all expect to take all the points off of us? No, we've got to compete with these teams. If we just expect to get our points by beating Crewe Gillingham and QPR the we'll be in Big Big trouble!
