He has been kicking out at people for years and this one was one of the most obvious.... twat

The England centre-half faces a three-match ban after being accused of kicking Manchester United's Eric Djemba-Djemba in the Community Shield.

Campbell, 28, has requested a personal hearing with the FA and Arsenal have said they will back his stance.

His international commitments have ruled out the possibility of an early hearing as he is on England duty ahead of Saturday's Euro 2004 qualifier in Macedonia.

Campbell was reported to have threatened to quit international football over what he saw as a vendetta against him by the FA.

He missed the final four games of last season - including the FA Cup final - after being sent off for lashing out at Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the 2-2 draw with title rivals Manchester United.

And he has already served a one-match ban for his red card for a professional foul in the 2-1 victory over Everton at Highbury on the opening day of the season.

Campbell was charged for reacting to a high boot from Djemba-Djemba in the Community Shield after the FA reviewed video footage of the match.

Djemba-Djemba was spoken to by referee Steve Bennett but Campbell was subsequently charged because Bennett did not see his reaction at the time.

In London village.
Very much an Arse mentality IMHO. They have an appalling disciplinary record, will never admit to doing anything wrong and Wenger never sees anything. The Manure of North London !

Wenger's been a total tosser about the disciplinary record. Sad thing is its working, they made such a fuss about Campbell after his sending off, and the Djemba incident, that Henry got off scot free for about the most provocative goal celebration I've ever seen against Everton. Celebrating the goal with someone he knew in a box behind the away fans? Oh please.

Arsenal have had over 50 red cards in the 6/7 years since Wenger took charge, about twice the number of all their main rivals, and to listen to him you'd think there was a bona fide conspiracy theory behind each and every one of them.

Someone at Highbury needs to take him to one side and say: "Arsene, that's 7/8 red cards a season, it's shite, sort it out, you've lost control of your team."

And another thing - if it had been a team like Leicester with that sort of sustained record of ill-discipline over several years, they would have had a massive fine or points deducted. David Dein, a big noise at the FA. Coincidence? I don't think so.

And relax...

thats true, but dont forget roy keane got a 5 match ban for ending haaland's career, when he already had a 3 match ban for elbowing jason mcateer
now i think the fa were far too soft, they should have banned the bastard!

No surprise that Arsenal want/need a big squad. Kicking their way to the championship seems to be Wenger's aim.

Who cares if Campbell quits International football anyway? if that's his attitude we don't need him.

Wenger, as usual, is taking things far too personally.
