Is that why both of those teams finished above you after 46 games?

The worse footballing team got through last night that is for sure, but football is a lot more than passing. It is about team spirit, mental strength, and fortitude. And we have those.

Wanker, but he was quite sporting and shook all our players hands before the penalties. Also, is it just me that thinks he had a point? Swindon must be feeling very unlucky today and King did wish all the players and supporters of Brighton good luck in the final.

I took it from Andy King's shaking of hands before the enalties as being some sort of pshyching out of the players, not a sporting offer at al. Maybe I'm just blighted by his carry-ons though.

Swindon must have been gutted after all there effort over the 2 games. Still I dont care we did enough to get there.

Sorry did not say goodbye last night, the emotions of the evening overtook me. May see you in Cardiff

Sorry, but I don't think King was being sporting at all in shaking our players hands before the penalties. I believe he was trying to wind them up- in the same way as Simeone attempted to do to Beckham in the World Cup game in Japan.

I might have believed he was being magnanimous, but when Piercy's shot hit the side netting in extra time and some people thought it was in, King was giving it large to the South Stand in a kind of "how wide do you want the goal" manner. Fortunately few people noticed in the crowd, but the 4th official had a word.

So yes, some sympathy to Swindon's players, even some to their fans, despite them generally being without a doubt the most unpleasant, homophobic bunch I've encountered all season.

But not a shred for King, not from me. From the moment we drew them in the play offs, we've heard nothing but crap from the man, about how much he wanted to play us rather than the other teams, implying we were the easiest team to beat (despite us finishing above them), how we're lucky, ugly, negative, whatever. He's like Alex Ferguson without the class or subtlety. And he's still going on this morning. Forget the performances over the two games, we admit we were crap, but look at the table, you twat, and you'll see that the best two teams ARE in the final.

I honestly feel sorry for most people associated with Swindon Town, but Andy King can go stick his head back up his own arse and drown in his own bitterness.

As I went on the pitch last night I basically bumped into Andy King, all I could think to say was "hard luck Andy" he shrugged, said "cheers mate" and stuffed his damp cigar butt in his mouth, looked down and carried on.

Don't slag me off for saying this but I all he has been doing for the past 2 weeks is psyching his players and fans up, he knew we were going to be tough but he had a job to do and did it.

His players played out of their socks for both games, their fans were mostly a credit to them, and be honest, we do the same wherever we go with regards the inbred, sheepshaggers, you're welsh type chanting.

End of the day, the rules state that if you can't do it in 2 legs of 90 minutes, then you do some extra time, then you do penalties, and if Mooney misses, the Albion go to Cardiff.

Don't you think that all adds to the fun Edna ? We hurl abuse at him and he gestures to us.

True Phil, but if you live by the sword you die by it.

You can't expect most Albion fans to sit back and listen to his crap, whether it's to psyche his team up or otherwise, without wanting to shove it back down his throat when he's proved wrong. That's human nature, and it's why plenty of people hate Alex Ferguson too.

He has pissed a number of teams off this season, Bristol City for starters, with his promise that Swindon would stuff City at the County Ground (result: 1-1), so I doubt there will be much sympathy nationwide for him at least, even if people feel sorry for his players.

Yeah, we weren't pretty, and the best attacking side lost last night. But don't forget the superb defensive display that our boys put on last night, Dan Harding's howler excepted (he'll learn from that), and the whole team battling spirit and assured approach to the shoot out.

The Swindon fans should be thanked for the superb atmosphere they helped create over both legs. I hope they do better next season.

Fair enough. And he did take some stick from the South Stand, and I was amongst them. But I don't take it either seriously or personally. He is the sort of manager than gives it and can take it. And that sets him apart from Ferguson.

King has been good value for money in the entertainment stakes if you don't take him too seriously. How many packs of cigars can a manager get through in one game? :lolol:

Spot on, and Mark McGhee wasn't rattled either.

I fully agree Edna, and we will never fell sorry for him, and we'll enjoy taking the piss for the next few days, in perspective I think this is what it's like at this level of success, we're not up automatically, so you've got 4 teams playing the most important 2 games of the season.

And now we've got 2 teams, and then there will be only one!

Now you better believe it, the poofs are going up!
