Should Zamora be asked not to play?

We should applaud him when he comes on and when he leaves the pitch but the bit in the middle should be business as usual. If he does a bad tackle on one of OUR players then we should BOO him. A rendition of "There's only one Bobby Zamora" or "He shot he scored..." etc is okay but remember he's a Hammer now.

I'd rather we sang about OUR players and not one of theirs even if it is the demi-god that is Bobby Zamora.

As hinted at by Harty on the phone-in,
Swansea, he rumoured, would have been asked to keep Leon from playing, ?

You must have heard a different phone in to me I thought that he said ' He had heard the rumour that if LK was not in the playing squad Swansea would have been asked not to bring him'.

I may have heard it wrong.

Not bringing him would probably have slowed his chances of playing, yes.

brighton, actually
I am sure the Withdean faithful will give the man due praise when he comes on the pitch, and if/when he does score.

but remember, Mr Z plays for, and is paid by, West Ham now - so quit living in the past - his job is to score goals, whatever 'history' he has with the opposition.

I for one don't want to be giving respect to Zamora for scoring against us. Many players have dented their former clubs by scoring goals, it seems to happen more than not! I think players even underline their new alliegence by putting away old ones.

Perhaps the most poignant was Denis Law sending Man Utd down by scoring against them - he still put it in the onion bag though!

Zamora must be stopped, and regarded as more zealous to score against us than ever.

p.s. Zamora should be allowed to play, but only if he promises not to try very hard to beat us.
We needn't worry, he didn't the last two times. :)

People still think that Law sent United down! What a load of Tosh! United would have gone down anyway!

I would like to think that he would receive a great reception from the visiting fans.
... as he wishes us luck in the 4th round.
