A manhunt is under way in East Sussex after a man was injured in a shooting incident at a shop in Portslade.
Two suspects are believed to have fled the scene following the incident at Margery Road Stores on Monday morning.
A Sussex Police spokeswoman said the force helicopter and armed officers were helping in the manhunt and were following a number of leads.
The victim's injuries are not believed to be life threatening and he is stable at the Royal Sussex County Hospital.
'Open mind'
"We are investigating a firearms incident and have assigned a lot of resources to contain the crime scene," said the spokeswoman.
"It is too early to confirm the exact nature of the incident, but investigators are keeping an open mind as to a possible motive."
Officers are speaking to a number of witnesses at the scene.
"Police would like to reassure the local community that everything is being done to bring the offenders to justice," said the spokeswoman.

"The victim's first name is Andy and the shooter is an undisclosed male who is currently the boyfriend of a young lady called Becky.
It seems that Becky and Andy were linked romantically by a disgruntled ex-employee of KFC, we are currently investigating a fans messageboard of a local football team which holds evidence of unsubstantiated rumours spread by this ex-employee."
