Why does it have eye lashes, owls don't have them. Mind you, I have never seen a seagull with ginger hair but that does not stop Gully having some on the top of his bonce.

Apparently, the "new" badge was Wednesday's first club crest, appearing in the 50s when they ditched the city's coat of arms.

The "new" badge didn't actually appear on the club shirts at all and was superceded in the 1960s by a different design.

I think recalling the old original club badge and sticking it on the shirts for the first time is pretty cool.

True, but not everything old is better.

I was seriously expecting a third one because I simply assumed the new one was an original club badge. Both of them look dated and terrible though.

they need to get rid of est 1867, over 150 years and won nothing.

Didn't they win the Rumbelow's (League) Cup once, or am I imagining that?

In the Ron Atkinson, David Hirst sort of era?

Pretty sure Wednesday have won SOME stuff, unless I'm being trolled here...

What's 'dated' exactly? Surely football clubs should keep some tradition.

Anything is better than these abhorrent modern era emblems like those on liverpool and spurs shirts.

Highlights: 4 time Div. 1 champions, 3 FA cups (all before 1939).

Still count though. Unless you're SkySports, or Crystal Palace, in which case football only started in 1992.

Bit annoying for Wednesday with their League Cup win in 1991 then.

Dated is a matter of opinion, but even classic designs are given a small rejuvenation every now and then. My problem is just that the new Crest is almost too much of a return to the original design that wasn't all that great to begin with, it might just look a bit nicer if the owl was better drawn. At the moment it looks like something from a meg and mog book.

Really don't get why clubs go for gimmicky cartoon type badges just like hull city....They best keep the one they've got although I like oldhams one as it at least looks realish.

OK I may have exaggerated, they are imo though given the size of their ground/ club one of the biggest under achievers in the League, or give that impression anyway..
