West Brom have confirmed Sheffield United's interest in striker Geoff Horsfield.

The Blades have already landed strikers Ade Akinbiyi and Bruce Dyer this month, but now The Baggies have revealed that Horsfield could also be on his way to Bramall Lane.

"Once the boys [Kanu and Diomansy Kamara] come back from the Nations Cup, Geoff could be going to Sheffield United," said West Brom chief Bryan Robson.

"It suits Geoff and that is something we are looking at, it could be a loan - but it could be permanent.

"Maybe a move back north would suit Geoff, but I think it is mainly first team football he wants."

United boss Neil Warnock has refused to comment on Horsfield but he did deny that Neil Shipperley's time at the club was set to come to an end.

"I have had inquiries about Neil from Championship clubs but I won't entertain any of them," said Warnock.

"He knows we are signing strikers but he is still a big part of my plans for this club."
