The seaside.
One thing the "decision" does seem to have done is splintered this board. There are people now arguing for different sites, wanting to build new stations, etc. For feck's sake, Falmer is the only site with architects designs and planning permission, a switch to anywhere else would add at least another two years worth of delay. What is going to be entertaining is seeing people who have slagged off Nimbies at Falmer suddenly applaud when the Nimbies start emerging at the other sites. And I guess that's what will swing Fat John. If there was any site he could put the stadium that wouldn't upset *anyone* you can bet your bottom dollar it would get the go ahead. Personally, I say if not Falmer then build on Preston Park - it's got great road access and is within 10 minutes walk of three different train stations.

There will not be a single site that will not upset anyone. Even if the 'site' were to not be a 'cause' for the NIMBYS you still have the Tree Huggers and Environ-mentalists to contend with.

I see that the West Pier option hasn't been mentioned. I'm sure that I've seen this crazy scheme mentioned in the Argus recently, whereby the stadium could be built out to sea on the WP site.

I've always been in favour of the Waterhall site but this one was rejected as being north of the bypass.

Falmer it is.

I don't think anyone on this board has argued for another site. What people have done is look at all the possible alternatives and looked at their pros and cons. I don't think that this is because they want to build on another site but simply to marshall their arguments for the battles to come.
