Just far enough away from LDC
Historically the blue riband event at athletics meets was.the mile. When this was changes to the metric mile (1500 metres) then the title blue riband was inherited by it.

Ask yourself this - who won the Mens 1500m at the last Olympics? Who won the Mens 100m? I GUARANTEE you many more people will know the answer to the latter than the former.

Being the first event makes it so amazing. (The mens cycling road race)

If and that's a big if, Cav pulls it off, it could well set the tone, athletes and fans combined.
If not, well it will be gutting.

After saying that it's all down to how Le Tour goes, before any predictions can be made.

If you're thinking of Redgrave, wasn't he in the pairs for two of those golds. Won one with Andy Holmes who died last year from wiels disease and the next one with Pinsent!

Which ever one Brits win, Cycling now probably. Couldn't give a shite about 100m myself. Always preferred hurdles for a track event.
